SEATTLE - A Washington police officer's use of two versions of Prozac allegedly caused him to drive to Kansas before taking his own life, according to a suit filed by his widow.Yvonne A'Rae Laisure-Radke v. Barr Laboratories, Inc., et al., No. CV03-3654P (W.D. Wash.).
The wrongful death suit, filed Nov. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, names as defendants Eli Lilly, the company that received FDA approval to market Prozac (fluoxetine) in 1987, and Barr Laboratories, which started marketing generic versions of the drug in August 2001.
