SEATTLE - A federal judge refused to certify a proposed economic injury class for individuals who purchased products containing PPA in Kentucky, finding that the identification of potential class members' injuries required too many individualized inquiries. In re: Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1407 (W.D. Wash.).

U.S. District Judge Barbara Rothstein's Nov. 5 order stated that the proposed class shared the same problems with manageability as the nationwide economic injury class that she denied certification for on Feb. 7.
