NEW ORLEANS - A woman filed suit against the manufacturer of Serzone claiming that her mother's use of the antidepressant caused her to suffer liver injuries that may have contributed to her death. Vera Vedros v. Bristol-Myers Squibb, Co., No. 03-3217 (E.D. La.).
In a handwritten complaint docketed Nov. 14, plaintiff Vera Vedros alleged that Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) failed to conduct sufficient pre-clinical testing on the antidepressant prior to its approval and failed to adequately warn consumers of the hazards of Serzone.
