NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - An Indiana woman filed suit against the manufacturer of Vioxx alleging that her husband's use of the osteoarthritis medication caused him to suffer numerous cardiac injuries that led to his death. The Estate of Lowell D. Morrison v. Merck & Co., Inc., et al., No. 29D02-0309-CT-763 (Indiana Cty. Ct., Hamilton Cty.).
Vioxx-manufacturer Merck, a company sales representative, and the physician who prescribed the drug, contributed to Lowell Morrison's death by failing to warn him of the drug's potentially fatal side effects, the Oct. 20 wrongful death suit states.
