Ohio Man Claims Remicade Caused Wife's Fatal Infection

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - An Ohio man filed suit against the manufacturer of Remicade claiming that the treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease caused his wife to develop a massive infection that led to her death. Delbert Reeder v. Centocor, Inc., No. 03-CV-2612 (Ohio Ct. Comm. Pleas, Mahoning Cty.).
The suit, which was filed in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, states that the drug is defectively designed and unreasonably dangerous because Centocor, Inc., the manufacturer of Remicade, failed to supply it with adequate warnings regarding potential side effects.
