OxyContin Injury Case Dismissed With Prejudice Three Weeks Before Scheduled Trial Date

STAMFORD, Conn. - The plaintiff's claims in an OxyContin-related injury suit were dismissed with prejudice by a federal judge just three weeks before the case was scheduled for an Oct. 6 trial date, the manufacturer of the opioid analgesic announced. Terri Lynne Poston v. Economy Drugs of Greenwood, Miss., et al., No. 02-CV-26 (N.D. Miss., Greenville Div.).
The trial would have been the first of its kind in the nation, Purdue Pharma, L.P., the Connecticut-based company that produces OxyContin stated in a Sept. 18 press release.
