Roche Moves to Dismiss Accutane Case Alleging Gastrointestinal Injuries

TAMPA, Fla. - Hoffmann-La Roche moved to dismiss a complaint filed by a man who allegedly suffered gastrointestinal injuries including liver problems and inflammatory bowel diseases as a result of using the acne medication Accutane. Justin Rand v. Hoffmann-La Roche, Inc., et al., No. 03-CV-1729-T-27EAJ (M.D. Fla., Tampa Div.).

According to the company's motion, filed Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the complaint should be dismissed because the plaintiff's complaint fails to include the dates that he used the drug, as well as the date of his injury.
