Supplement Maker Twinlab Files for Chapter 11 Protection

NEW YORK - Twinlab Corp., the Hippaugge, N.Y.-based company that once manufacturered the ephedra-based supplement "Ripped Fuel," has filed for Chapter 11 protection under the Federal Bankruptcy Code in order to address "undisclosed financial and debt-related issues." In re: Twinlab Corporation, No. 03-15564-CB (S.D.N.Y.).

The petition, filed Sept. 4 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, stated that the supplement maker listed $91.5 million in assets and $116.5 million in debts.
