EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Expert testimony offered to support plaintiffs' theory that PPA can cause both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes in men and women was deemed reliable by the N.J. Superior Court Judge presiding over the state's mass tort proceedings involving PPA-related injury cases. In re: Phenylpropanolamine (PPA), Mass Tort Code 264 (N.J. Super. Ct., Middlesex Cty.).
Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Marina Corodemus' ruling stated that general causation testimony proffered from 15 of the plaintiffs' 16 experts was admissible.
