BATON ROUGE, La. - The failure of three pharmacists to instruct a woman of the dangers associated with the use of Arava can be found liable for her development of non-viral, non-alcoholic liver damage under the Louisiana Medical Malpractice Act, according to the plaintiffs' motion to remand. Carol Guidry and George Guidry v. Aventis Pharmaceuticals, et. al., No. 03-493 (M.D. La.).

Plaintiffs Carol and George Guidry argued in their July 23 motion that, under Louisiana jurisdiction, pharmacists have a personal duty to their customers.
