SOMERSET, Ky. - A schizophrenic patient recently filed suit against Eli Lilly & Co., the manufacturer of Zyprexa, claiming that his use of the antipsychotic drug caused him to develop diabetes and suffer from pancreatitis and ketoacidosis. Carl Cooper and Linda Cooper v. Eli Lilly & Co., et al., No. 03-CI-00658 (Ky. Cir. Ct., Pulaski Cty., Div. 2).
As a result of his injuries, plaintiff Carl Cooper claimed in his June 27 complaint that he sustained loss of earnings and incurred medical and incidental expenses.
