MINNEAPOLIS - Three Mississippi women who allegedly sustained muscle injuries as a result of using Baycol will be allowed to join their claims in a multi-party complaint against the manufacturer of the cholesterol-lowering drug, a federal judge ruled. In re: Baycol Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1431 (D. Minn.).
U.S. District Judge Michael J. Davis stated in an order entered on July 22 that the claims of the three plaintiffs have many common characteristics and that the plaintiffs' claims arise out of the same transaction.
