TRENTON - The New Jersey Attorney General recently filed suit against Cytodyne Technologies, Inc., claiming that it used deceptive and misleading claims in advertisements for two products - Xenadrine RFA-1, which contains ephedra and caffeine, and Xenadrine EFX, an ephedra-free weight-loss product. Peter C. Harvey, et al., v. Cytodyne Technologies, Inc., et al., No. C-205-03 (N.J. Super. Ct., Monmouth Cty.).
The suit seeks to assess civil penalties against the defendants for each violation of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and seeks to permanently enjoin the defendants from disseminating similar advertisements.
