Study Finds Risk of Heart Attack Doubles
During First Year of HRT Use
The final results of the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) Study were published in the Aug. 7 New England Journal of Medicine and concluded that women using the estrogen plus progestin form of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) nearly double their risk of heart attacks during the first year of treatment.
