COLUMBIA, S.C. - Just weeks before the case was slated to go to trial, Eli Lilly & Co., the manufacturer of Prozac, and the parents of a 16-year-old boy have settled allegations that the boy's suicide was caused by his ingestion of the antidepressant. Wayne S. Lown, et al., v. Eli Lilly & Co., No. 01-3674-10 (D. S.C.).

The terms of the April 16 settlement agreement were not disclosed, explained plaintiff's counsel Andy Vickery of Houston's Jones & Granger.
