Six Cases Involving OxyContin-Related Injuries Dismissed in State and Federal Courts

STAMFORD, Conn. - Six cases filed by individuals who allegedly sustained injuries as a result of using OxyContin were dismissed in four different state and federal courts, according to Purdue Pharma, L.P., the manufacturer of the prescription pain reliever. Sharon Faye Baker, et al., v. Purdue Pharma, L.P., et al., No. 01-00553 (S.D. W.V.).
According to a May 15 press release issued by the company, the announcement brings the total number of cases filed against the drug maker that have been dismissed to 29.
