Plaintiffs in NexGen Knee MDL Seek Release of Funds for Attorneys’ Fees, Costs




CHICAGO - Plaintiffs in the now-closed Zimmer NexGen Knee Implant multidistrict litigation have moved for distribution of funds set aside for attorneys’ fees and litigation costs.

The sealed motion was filed on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation created the NexGen Knee MDL docket in August 2011, after determining that the actions shared factual issues arising from allegations that Zimmer's 'high-flex' femoral components (i.e., the Cruciate Retaining (CR) and Legacy Posterior Stabilized (LPS) components, and the 'Gender Solutions' versions thereof) and/or the MIS Tibial component are prone …
