Janssen Vindicated of Claims that Heartburn Drug Caused Calif. Man to Suffer Fatal Heart Attack

NAPA, Calif. - A Napa County jury awarded Janssen Pharmaceutica, Inc., the manufacturer of Propulsid, its second victory in just under two months after finding that the heartburn drug did not cause a 46-year-old man to suffer a fatal heart attack. Rosemary Calvert, et al., v. Janssen Pharmacuetica, Inc., et al., No. 26-12108 (Calif. Super. Ct., Napa Cty.).
At the conclusion of the eight-week trial, the six man, six woman jury deliberated for just three hours before rendering its unanimous decision.
