Plaintiffs Seek MDL Docket for Allergan Biocell Textured Breast Implant Suits

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs in cases targeting Allergan’s Biocell textured breast implants have asked a federal panel to centralize all related actions for pretrial proceedings, arguing that the litigation potentially involves thousands of women who have symptoms of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).

According to the Oct. 3 motion filed before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, at least five civil class action complaints have been filed regarding Allergan’s Biocell products. The lawsuits accuse Allergan of failing to warn of the causal connection between the Biocell products and BIA-ALCL.
