Woman Seeks $25 Million in Punitive Damages for Injuries Allegedly Caused by Zyprexa

TOLEDO, Ohio - A woman recently filed a lawsuit against Eli Lilly, the Indiana-based manufacturer of Zyprexa, seeking compensatory damages and $25 million in punitive damages for injuries she allegedly sustained as a result of using the popular antipsychotic. Barbara Wilson v. Eli Lilly & Co., et al., No. CI0200302374 (Ohio Ct. Comm. Pleas, Lucas Cty.).
According to the complaint, Eli Lilly and fifteen unnamed sales representatives withheld information from consumers and physicians regarding the association between the schizophrenia and bipolar disorder treatment and the development of diabetes, pancreatitis and diabetic ketoacidosis.
