N.Y. Federal Judge Issues Order to Show Cause in Howmedica Hip Action

NEW YORK — A New York federal judge has ordered the plaintiff in a Howmedica Osteonics Corp. hip replacement case to show cause as to why her action should not be dismissed for failure to prosecute.

On July 18, Judge Kenneth Karas of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ordered the plaintiff to comply with the order by Aug. 19.

Annah Giorda underwent a total hip replacement surgery on Jan. 30, 2014, in which she was implanted with Howmedica’s MDM X3 Modular Dual Mobility Mobile Bearing Hip System.
