Wright Medical Group Dismissed from Calif. Profemur Hip Case

SAN DIEGO — A California federal judge has dismissed Wright Medical Group from a Profemur hip replacement case for lack of specific jurisdiction, ruling that the company does not has sufficient contacts with California on its own or that it purposefully availed itself to the state.
On June 24, Judge Anthony J. Battaglia of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California further found the company cannot be subjected to personal jurisdiction through any alter ego or agency theories.
