PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania federal judge has refused to dismiss claims against two Takeda defendants in an Actos bladder cancer case, ruling that the companies consented to general jurisdiction by registering to do business in Pennsylvania and maintaining a registered agent in Philadelphia.
However, in a June 26 order, Judge Gerald Pappert of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed the claims against Takeda Global Research and Development Center Inc., finding the company has not “purposefully directed its activities” at Pennsylvania and that the litigation does not “arise out of or relate to” at least one …
