Discovery in Mentor Breast Implant Case Stayed Pending Dismissal Motion

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — In an attempt to avoid “unnecessary expense,” a Kansas federal magistrate judge has stayed discovery in a silicone breast implant case pending resolution of Mentor Worldwide LLC’s motion to dismiss on preemption grounds.
In a June 26 order, Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas recognized “the expense and complexity that discovery in this case could involve.”
