LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas man has accused Consensus Orthopedics Inc. f/k/a Hayes Medical of defectively designing its modular hip system, forcing him to undergo multiple revision surgeries due to severe metallosis-related infection, resulting in complete loss of his hip.
In a recent complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the plaintiff alleges that the components of the Hayes Medical UniSyn Hip system he received “created an unreasonably high risk of corrosion, trunnionosis, metallosis and failure, causing severe injury.”
