Woman Claims Use of Zyprexa Caused Her Diabetes

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A woman who allegedly developed diabetes as a result of using Zyprexa claims that the manufacturer used aggressive marketing tactics that included promoting the drug to treat conditions that were not approved by the FDA. Connie Ault and John Ault v. Eli Lilly & Co., et al., No. 03-CI-011 (Ky. Cir. Ct., Fayette Cty.).

Eli Lilly, the company that makes the antidepressant, and 15 unnamed defendants, allegedly withheld information from consumers and physicians regarding the potential dangers of the drug, the complaint states.
