BOSTON, SAN FRANCISCO — Two new lawsuits linking contaminated valsartan-containing drugs with the development of kidney and liver cancer have been filed in California and Massachusetts federal courts against the drug’s manufacturers.

In both complaints the plaintiffs accuse defendants Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceutical Co., Huahai US Inc., Solco Healthcare U.S., Prinston Pharmaceutical Inc. and Mylan Pharmaceuticals of ignoring warning signs of contamination at the Chinese manufacturing plant where the drug is made.

The lawsuits were filed on Jan. 14 in the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California …
