NEW YORK — The New York federal judge overseeing the docket for cases alleging that Mirena causes harmful neurological side effects has excluded the causation testimony of all plaintiffs’ experts, explaining that their analysis is flawed by serious methodological deficiencies.
On Oct. 24, Judge Paul A. Engelmayer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York further found the experts’ theories do not satisfy Daubert because they did not test them in a direct experiment, an epidemiological study, or a clinical trial.
