DALLAS — DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. and its parent Johnson & Johnson have moved for judgment notwithstanding the verdict following a Pinnacle Ultamet hip trial that ended in verdicts totaling $246,998,791.22, arguing the evidence did not support the jury’s findings.

In Sept. 26 motion filed before Judge Ed Kinkeade of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the defendants argued that plaintiffs failed to present evidence supporting their claims of design defect, failure-to-warn, fraud and punitive damages.
