Pa. Federal Lawsuit Targets Arthrex’s Recalled iBalance Knee Device

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Pennsylvania woman has sued Arthrex Inc. in federal court, alleging it failed to adequately warn consumers of the hazards associated with its recalled Arthrex iBalance knee implant device and did not perform adequate testing of the device before promoting it to surgeons.

In an Aug. 8 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the plaintiff further alleges Arthrex downplayed the device’s risks and failed to correct its defects before embarking on an aggressive marketing campaign that touted the iBalance as safe and effective.
