Plaintiffs in 18 Biomet Hip Cases Ordered to Show Cause Why Actions Should Not be Dismissed

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Indiana federal judge overseeing the Biomet M2a Magnum hip implant multidistrict litigation docket has ordered the plaintiffs in 18 reportedly settled cases to show cause, if any, as to why their cases should not be dismissed with prejudice.

In a July 30 order, Judge Robert L. Miller Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana explained that the cases have been reported as settled but remain pending.
