PHILADELPHIA — A case in which a woman alleges her Zimmer M/L Taper with Kinectiv Technology hip implant system with a VerSys femoral head was defectively designed and manufactured is scheduled for trial in Pennsylvania federal court on July 31.

The lawsuit, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, says the hip replacement system generated excessive fretting and corrosion that generates toxic metal debris, metal ions and other chemical byproducts which are released into the surrounding tissues.
