New York Jury Awards $2 Million to Women Injured by Diabetes Drug

NEW YORK - A New York woman was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages for injuries stemming from her use of the diabetes drug Rezulin. Concepcion Morgardo v. Warner-Lambert, et al., No. 4032432001 (N.Y. Sup. Co., New York Cty.).
The jury's April 3 decision stated that Warner-Lambert Co., which supplied the drug prior to being acquired from Pfizer in June 2000, misrepresented and omitted facts about the safety of the drug to plaintiff Concepcion Morgado and her physician.
