Remaining Taper, ReCap and MoP Cases on Biomet M2a MDL Docket Remanded

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — An Indiana federal judge has remanded the five remaining Taper, ReCap and metal-on-polyethylene cases in the Biomet M2a Magnum hip implant MDL, finding that any device-specific and case-specific discovery that remains to be done can be completed upon remand.

In the May 30 order, Judge Robert Miller of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana found that the district courts to which the cases are remanded or transferred are in as good a position, if not better, than the MDL court to decide the remaining issues.
