Stephen Bent, M.D., is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and is an expert in evidence-based medicine and ambulatory care. His primary research interest is the evaluation of alternative therapies and the safety and efficac of herbal remedies. Dr. Bent received his MD from Vanderbilt University. He was also the lead author of 'The Relative Safety of Ephedra Compared with Other Herbal Products,' which was published in the March 18 issue of The Annals of Internal Medicine.
