Judge Grants Motion to Extend June 2002 Order Denying Class Certification to Four Personal Injury Cases

SEATTLE - A federal judge granted the pharmaceutical defendants' motion to extend a previous order denying class certification to four proposed class actions filed on behalf of individuals who allegedly sustained injuries as a result of ingesting PPA. In re: Phenlypropanolamine Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1407 (W.D. Wash.).

According to U.S. District Judge Barbara Rothstein's Feb. 24 ruling, the plaintiffs seeking to establish the proposed classes did not show that their cases were distinguishable from the cases previously considered in the court's June 2002 order.
