N.J. High Court Creates Multi-County Docket for Abilify Compulsive Behavior Cases

TRENTON, N.J. — The New Jersey Supreme Court has agreed to create a multi-county litigation docket for pending and future Abilify compulsive behavior cases for centralized management, explaining that the litigation involves common, recurrent issues of law and fact.
The docket has 42 pending cases and will remain before Judge James J. DeLuca in the Bergen County Superior Court, according to the May 9 order.
In the cases, plaintiffs allege their use of Abilify caused them to engage in compulsive behaviors, including gambling. Plaintiffs have asserted product liability and fraud claims against Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc., Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. …
