NEWARK, N.J. — A N.J. federal judge has refused to remand a Zimmer M/L Taper hip implant case and ordered the plaintiffs to participate in the multidistrict litigation’s global settlement program, explaining their action falls within the court’s extended settlement order.

On May 1, Judge Susan D. Wigenton of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey held that questions of remand should be coordinated and not handled on a case-by-case basis.
