DES MOINES, Iowa - Wright Medical Technology is denying an Iowa couple's allegations that it negligently designed and manufactured its Profemur hip replacement system, asserting that the device's components are not, in fact, defective.
In a Feb. 9 answer filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, WMT also asserted affirmative defenses of failure to mitigate, learned intermediary doctrine, and failure to state a claim.
