ASR Hip Plaintiff's Attorney Asks 6th Cir. to Review Jurisdiction Ruling in Fee Dispute

CLEVELAND - A plaintiff's attorney is appealing a ruling that a fee dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the district court overseeing the federal DePuy ASR hip implant MDL docket because it is related to the multidistrict litigation and master settlement agreement.

Attorney Steven S. Johnson has asked the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to review a Dec. 19 order in which the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio held that it has personal jurisdiction over the attorney because he "availed himself of the MDL efficiencies for the benefit of his clients."
