SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Biomet is urging an Indiana federal judge to bar plaintiffs’ expert, Dr. George Kantor, from offering opinions regarding tribological flaws in the M2a Magnum metal-on-metal hip replacement device, arguing that he has no training or experience as an engineer.
In a Sept. 11 reply filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, Biomet maintains that Kantor’s extensive experiences with other devices as an orthopaedic surgeon does not support expert testimony under Rule 702, and plaintiffs point to no reliable facts, data, or methodology to support his condemnation of M2a hip devices.
