Dr. Kantor Qualified to Opine on Allegedly Defective M2a Magnum Hip, Plaintiffs Argue

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Plaintiffs in the Biomet M2a Magnum hip implant MDL have opposed Biomet Inc’s motion to exclude the testimony of their expert, Dr. George Kantor, arguing that he has the requisite qualifications and experience to offer opinions regarding the defective nature of large-head metal-on-metal hip implants.
In an Aug. 31 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, plaintiffs assert that Kantor’s opinions are based on his clinical experience of revising first and second-generation metal-on-metal hips and his extensive experience with first-generation metal-on-metal designs.
