Bayer, Janssen Prevail in 3rd Bellwether Xarelto Action to Proceed to Trial

JACKSON, Miss. — A federal jury in Mississippi has returned a verdict in favor of Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer Healthcare in the third bellwether Xarelto case to proceed to trial.
On Aug. 18, a jury consisting of four men and three women sitting in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi determined that Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer Healthcare adequately warned plaintiff Dora Mingo’s physicians that the anti-coagulant drug could cause a major bleeding event and that it was not defectively designed.
