3rd Bellwether Xarelto Action Proceeds to Trial; Jury Selection Completed

JACKSON, Miss. — A bellwether Xarelto case has proceeded to trial in a Jackson, Miss., federal courthouse, where a jury consisting of five men and four women will determine whether plaintiff Dora Mingo is entitled to damages for injuries she claims were caused by the anti-coagulant drug.
Jury selection took place on Aug. 7, following a ruling by Judge Eldon Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in which he denied Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer Healthcare’s motion for summary judgment on Mingo’s failure-to-warn and design defect claims.
