MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A Wisconsin woman has alleged that her implantation of an allegedly defective Zimmer M/L Taper Hip Prosthesis with Kinectiv Technology System in both hips caused her to sustain numerous injuries, leaving her permanently disabled, according to a recently filed lawsuit.
In a July 26 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the plaintiff accuses Zimmer of failing to report adverse events associated with the device to the Food and Drug Administration, including corrosion, increases in the incidence of adverse effects, and device failures necessitating a labeling, manufacturing or device modification.
