INDIANAPOLIS — Biomet Inc. has moved to exclude opinions of plaintiffs’ biomechanical engineering expert in the M2a Magnum MDL, arguing that she is not qualified to testify as to Biomet’s use of metal-on-metal bearing surfaces in its hip implant devices.
In its July 18 motion to exclude filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, Biomet challenges Mari Truman’s opinion that metal-on-metal bearing surfaces are an unreasonably dangerous design for hip implant systems, arguing that she lacks the requisite expertise in tribology.
