Judge Overseeing Calif. Coordinated DePuy ASR Docket Denies Motion to Retransfer 20 Cases




SAN FRANCISCO — The judge overseeing California’s DePuy ASR Hip Implant coordinated docket has denied plaintiffs’ request to have 20 cases retransferred to the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Following a hearing, Judge Mary E. Wiss of the San Francisco County Superior Court denied plaintiffs’ motion without prejudice on June 22, according to a docket entry.

The plaintiffs in the 20 cases, all represented by Girardi Keese, were implanted with the ASR System and allege they sustained various injuries as a result, including metallosis, psuedotumors, and ratcheting of the device. Their cases were initially filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court …
