BALTIMORE — Smith & Nephew Inc. has opposed plaintiffs’ request for the adoption of a master complaint in the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing multidistrict litigation, arguing that it will delay the proceedings and result in unnecessary time and expense.
In a June 23 opposition filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, S&N further argued that plaintiffs’ motion for a general discovery period of one year is premature.
