SEATTLE — A Washington man has filed an amended complaint against Zimmer Inc., alleging that his implantation of an allegedly defective ML Taper hip replacement system caused him to suffer significant pain and required revision surgery.
According to a June 23 pleading filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, the implant had loosened and failed because a significant portion of the porous coating separated (delaminated) from the implant itself.
Michael A. Staub sued Zimmer in Washington state court, alleging he underwent hip arthroplasty on Dec. 4, 2013, during which his surgeon implanted an ML Taper …
