WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has granted plaintiffs’ request to create a consolidated docket for federal lawsuits alleging injury caused by the synthetic hernia repair product Physiomesh.
In a June 3 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia consented to assignment of the actions to Judge Richard W. Story for coordinated or consolidated pretrial proceedings.
The plaintiffs requested in March that the 18 Physiomesh cases currently pending in 9 federal districts, along with any similar future claims, be transferred to a multidistrict litigation docket in the Middle District of Florida. In the …
